ICC imposed 8-year ban on UAE cricketers Mohammad Naveed and Shaiman Anwar Butt

Mohammad Naveed and Shaiman Anwar Butt have been accused of breaking ICC rules 2.1.1 and 2.4.4. Both these players were accused of corruption during the T20 World Cup Qualifiers match in the year 2019.UAE cricketers Mohammad Naveed and Shaiman Anwar Butt have been ban for 8 years after being proved guilty of breaking the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

ICC released statement after ban on two UAE Cricketers

The ICC issued a statement saying, ‘Both players have been banned since 16 October 2019 when they tried to corruption during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers matches.’ The ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal has held both these players guilty after hearing the ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal.

Serious allegations against cricketers

What do the rules say?

Both the players have been punished under Sections 2.1.1 and 2.4.4. Section 2.1.1 relates to agreeing to fix the match or effect the result while in 2.4.4 there is a provision for punishment against not giving ICC ACU the information to be contacted for corruption.

ICC Integrity Unit general manager Alex Marshall said, “Naved and Anwar used to play cricket for the UAE. Naved was the captain of the team, while Anwar was the opener. I am happy that the tribunal has called on all formats of cricket Ban on playing in. This is a warning for every player who will think of going the wrong way. ”

Alex Marshall said, ‘The international careers of both the players have been very big and they know what is the result of meeting with the match fixers. Despite this, both these players indulged in corruption and they cheated the teammates and the supporters of UAE cricket.
