India tour of West Indies: Saha, Rohit back in India Test squad, Dhawan returns to ODI side

INDIA TOUR OF WEST INDIES ,SQUAD ANNOUNCED FOR ODI , T20 AND TEST


HIGHLIGHTS

Team India’s T20 International, ODIs and Test Team have been announced today for the West Indies tour. The meeting of the selectors in Mumbai was announced after meeting for nearly three hours. because The meeting took place in the BCCI Cricket Center in Mumbai and captain Virat Kohli was also part of it. but India have to play three-three T20 internationals and one-day matches in the West Indies and play two Test matches.

ROHIT  BACK TEST CRICKET.

Rohit Sharma has been brought back in the Test squad while Jasprit Bumrah has been rested from the limited-overs series along with all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

Virat Kohli will lead the team in all three series after the captain made himself available for the full tour. It was initially reported that Kohli would be rested for the limited-overs series but the 30-year-old has decided to play all three formats in the West Indies.

Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant is a part of the ODI, T20I and Test squads along with Kohli and Rohit.

Wriddhiman Saha will rejoin the Test side after a gap of more than a year.  Saha last played in the first Test against South Africa in Cape Town in January 2018, after which he was ruled out for the rest of the series with a shoulder injury for which he eventually underwent surgery last August.

MS DHONI WILL MISS OUT

But India will be missing the services of MS Dhoni in the limited-overs series after the former captain made himself unavailable for the next two months.

Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday made himself “unavailable” for the tour of West Indies but ruled out immediate retirement a day before the selectors meet in Mumbai to pick the squads for the upcoming away series.

Amid mounting speculation around his international retirement after India’s semi-final exit from the recent World Cup,  because Dhoni has told the BCCI that he will take a two-month sabbatical from the game to serve his paramilitary regiment.

Dhoni is an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Territorial Army.

“We would like to clarify three things. MS Dhoni is not retiring from cricket right now. He is taking a two month sabbatical to serve his paramilitary regiment which he had committed much earlier. We have now intimated his decision to skipper Virat Kohli and chairman of selectors MSK Prasad,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on Saturday.


JASPRIT  AND HARDIK RESTED

Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the limited-overs series against the Windies but has been named in the Test squad alongside Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishant Sharma. while india  all rounder hardik has been rested from tour of west indies

The selectors have also picked Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav as the spinners for the Test series.
