NZ vs SA: New Zealand announced squad for test series against South Africa

New Zealand has announced its squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. Young batsman Rachin Ravindra has also been included in this Test series.  He will play a Test match on home ground for the first time in two years. However, this time he will have to play in the middle order.

Rachin Ravindra made his debut on the India tour in 2021. Then he played in Kanpur and Mumbai test matches. After this, he played against Bangladesh at Bay Oval in January 2022. Recently, he got a place in the team for the Test series against Bangladesh but he could not make it to the playing eleven.

Canterbury fast bowler Will O’Rourke has also been included in the fast bowling department. Who will play in Test matches for the first time? He had recently performed well while playing for New Zealand A. That is why he has got a place in the team. However, he has been given a place in the team only for the second test match.

Kane Williamson has returned after injury. He suffered an injury during the T20 series against Pakistan but has been included in the team for the South Africa Test. Fast bowler Kyle Jamieson has also recovered from injury. Players like Devon Conway and Neil Wagner will also be a part of the series and in such a situation the New Zealand team is looking very strong.

Along with Williamson, two other injured players, who are still recovering from their respective problems – Tom Blundell and Kyle Jamieson – have been included in the 14-man squad. The first Test match of the series will be played in Tauranga from 4-8 February. While the second Test will be played in Hamilton from 13-17 February.
