Pakistan’s star cricketer openly threatened the selectors

Pakistan cricket is surrounded by controversies most of the time. Recently news came out that Shahid Afridi wanted Babar Azam to be replaced as captain. The controversy had not stopped yet that another big thing has come to the fore.

Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has threatened the selectors that if he is now dropped from the team without informing, then the result will not be good. Imad Wasim was recently selected in the Pakistan squad for the three T20 International series against Afghanistan.

Imad Wasim, 34, was out of the national team for more than a year. He played the last T20 International match against Australia in Dubai in November 2021 before his return. In a conversation with a local TV channel, Wasim revealed that he was dropped from the national team by the selectors without giving any reason.

Cricket Pakistan quoted Imad Wasim as saying, “The selectors kept me out of the national team for the last one to one-and-a-half years without giving any reason. Now I will not let this happen again. This time my actions will be important. I am at that stage of my career that if I am thrown out without informing, I will take any step.

Imad Wasim also said that he did not suffer any financial loss for not playing in the national team. When he was not a part of the national team, he was able to earn more. Wasim said, ‘When I was out of the team, there was no loss financially. I was earning more than what I earn by playing for Pakistan.

The Pakistan all-rounder said that he has full faith in his abilities. He said, ‘I have full faith in my ability. If I was a bowler who depended on the situation, the T20 league teams in Australia and South Africa would not have selected me. Please tell that Imad Wasim will now be seen in action in the five T20 International series against New Zealand.

Imad Wasim’s career

Imad Wasim represented Pakistan in 61 T20 Internationals and scored 434 runs with the help of one half-century. He also took 57 wickets. Recently, Wasim participated in the Pakistan Super League, where he scored 404 runs with the help of three half-centuries and took 9 wickets.
