Hardik Pandya Trade: Mumbai Indians Want Two KKR Stars, Report Reveals

The Hardik Pandya trade saga has taken another turn, with Mumbai Indians reportedly seeking two Kolkata Knight Riders players as part of a possible deal involving their captain.

According to a report, Mumbai Indians are interested in acquiring Harshit Rana and Angkrish Raghuvanshi from KKR. However, Kolkata are understood to be unwilling to release several of their key players, making the proposed transfer difficult to complete.

With the IPL 2027 mini-auction approaching, Hardik’s future has become one of the biggest talking points. Several franchises have reportedly shown interest, but no official trade has been announced.

Why Mumbai Indians Want Harshit Rana and Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Mumbai Indians have reportedly identified two areas they could strengthen through a potential Hardik Pandya trade.

Harshit Rana could provide an Indian pace-bowling option, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi would add batting depth and could help address Mumbai’s need for an Indian wicketkeeper-batter.

Raghuvanshi has also been viewed as a promising young batter. However, KKR may be reluctant to let him go, particularly because he is considered an important part of their future plans.

For Mumbai, the proposed deal would be about more than replacing Hardik’s individual contributions. The franchise would need to build a squad capable of competing across the tournament while addressing its own weaknesses.

KKR Reluctant to Release Their Key Players

Kolkata Knight Riders are reportedly interested in Hardik, partly because of the leadership and all-round skills he could bring to the team.

However, KKR are understood to be unwilling to part ways with major players such as Sunil Narine, Varun Chakaravarthy and Rinku Singh. Cameron Green has also been discussed as a possible option, although his availability for the IPL could be a concern.

This creates a major challenge for the proposed trade. Mumbai want a substantial return, while Kolkata must consider whether losing multiple important players would weaken their own squad.

Hardik Pandya Trade: What About CSK?

Chennai Super Kings have also been linked with Hardik Pandya. However, recent reports suggest that the franchise has not made significant progress on a possible deal.

CSK would need to consider their squad balance and the players they might have to release. Shivam Dube has been mentioned in trade discussions, but no exchange has been confirmed.

The franchise is also expected to finalise its coaching plans before making major decisions regarding the trade market.

Will Hardik Pandya Leave Mumbai Indians?

At this stage, Hardik Pandya’s future remains uncertain. Mumbai Indians have not officially confirmed that they will trade their captain, and the reported discussions with KKR have not produced a completed deal.

The situation will depend on whether the franchises can agree on the players involved and whether the proposed exchange benefits both sides.

For Mumbai, the priority would be securing a strong return. For KKR, the challenge would be acquiring Hardik without sacrificing too much of their existing core.

Until the franchises make an official announcement, the Hardik Pandya trade remains a developing IPL 2027 story.
