Sanjay Bangar selected Indian team for World Cup 2023, surprised everyone by including this player

Former Indian team batting coach Sanjay Bangar has selected his 15 favorite players for the upcoming World Cup. Sanjay Bangar made a big change in the bowling department, knowing that everyone was surprised. It is known that India will start its campaign in the World Cup 2023 against Australia on 8 October in Chennai.

The ODI World Cup will host by India from 5 October to 19 November 2023. The Indian team will take part in the Asia Cup and then a home series against Australia before the prestigious tournament.

BCCI’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar recently admitted that the squad for the World Cup will be pick on the same lines as the Asia Cup. The Asia Cup is very important for the Indian team, where the fitness of many injured players returning to the team will be the real test.

Sanjay Bangar in conversation with Star Sports has selected his 15 favorite players for the World Cup 2023. Bangar said that he has included five specialist batsmen. Two wicket-keeper batsmen, two spin all-rounders, one fast bowler all-rounder, one spinner and four fast bowlers in his squad.

The 50-year-old Bangar said, “My team has Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav as specialist batsmen. Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul will remain in the two wicketkeepers. As a spin bowling all-rounder, I would love to go with Akshar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja.

Sanjay Bangar further said, “Hardik Pandya will be a fast bowler all-rounder. Kuldeep Yadav will be the specialist spinner. The names of Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Arshdeep Singh will be in the four fast bowlers.

Why the surprise in the name of Arshdeep?

Bangar has surprised everyone including Arshdeep Singh. The 24-year-old left-arm fast bowler has played three ODIs so far, in which he has not taken a single wicket. However, Arshdeep Singh’s figures in the T20 International format are impressive. Arshdeep Singh has taken 50 wickets in 33 T20 Internationals. Arshdeep Singh, however, has not named in the squad announced for the Asia Cup, which begins on August 30.
